I just bought an unlocked ZTE Blade 3 from Argos a couple of days ago, It's currently running 4.0.4 ICS and it's been a little slow and unresponsive which I expected with only 512mb RAM but it's beginning to become frustrating, especially since I bought it to replace a laggy phone. I wanted to know how I'd go about getting Kitkat on there since I know that it's made to run smoothly on devices with only 512mb RAM.
I'm somewhat of a novice when it comes to rooting and custom roms, but I have seen it done on other phones before and I know a little about it but not a lot. Has anyone had any experience with getting 4.4 on the Blade 3? Could I use a previous gen's roms? Should I go ahead with CM installer even though it says it's not compatible? Any advice or previous experiences people have had would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, I'm new here.
No, none of those is a recovery.img we're after (even though you could make one from the contents). Which one is Hungarian update anyway? Wasn't is some ancient generic 08 version? You can use recovery.img from any of the generic updates to install other generic updates. Depends on what recovery image you have. You cant flash official updates with custom recovery and you cant install official updates with mismatching stock recovery. Why would you want to unroot anyway?
Many thanks for your answer. I downloaded rom, and you are right, it seems to be a 08 version. I am trying to stick to this though, as I have hardware problems (the speaker is not working), and I would still have warranty if I could restore the original rom. Could I make use of the install - recovery.
Sh script somehow? #!/system/bin/sh if! Applypatch -c EMMC:/dev/block/mmcblk0p17:2048:82d4adc5b4d76de412d1eb942a4578d4bb1c0169; then log -t recovery 'Installing new recovery image' applypatch EMMC:/dev/block/mmcblk0p:6774b7fc76aa9712745e5db5c4fcd5c3427e5812 EMMC:/dev/block/mmcblk0p17 4953b2a9768e567f9bb52ae318fa51147423b84c 104b7fc76aa9712745e5db5c4fcd5c3427e5812:/system/recovery-from-boot.p else log -t recovery 'Recovery image already installed' fi Or if you could explain how I can make the recovery.img from the content, I would really appreciate it. Cheers, Marton. Hi to all, first of all really great job with tuttorials and roms, i flashed my mothers Zte and works perfect. But now i have a problem, phone started to reboot on its own every few minutes, not 100% sure but i think its a problem with power butom. Sometimes it doesnt even work, and few seconds after clicking it, phone reboots.
